Step 1: The Initial Assessment
To get started, just give us a call or fill out our Parent Contact Form. Our Intake Team will review your information and let you know if ABA therapy is the right fit for your child. If so, we’ll guide you through each step of the process with care and support, because you don’t have to do this alone.
Comprehensive Observation
We observe your child at home, in our center, or at school to understand their natural behaviors and interactions.
Structured Assessment Tools
We use well-established tools such as the VB-MAPP or ABLLS-R to carefully evaluate developmental milestones and skill levels.
Family Consultation
We’ll sit down with you to discuss your child’s developmental history, current behaviors, and any previous evaluations you would like to share.
This thoughtful assessment allows us to gain a clear picture of your child’s strengths, areas for growth, and any behaviors of concern. The insights gathered help us create a treatment plan designed specifically for your child.
Step 2: Insurance Authorization & Paperwork

Since most insurance providers require pre-approval, a few important documents are needed before therapy can begin. Please know, you won’t have to navigate this process alone.
-
A diagnostic report confirming your child’s need for ABA
-
A prescription or referral for ABA services from a physician
-
Submission of the assessment and treatment plan to insurance
Our dedicated team will take care of the paperwork and keep you informed every step of the way. At times, we may ask for your assistance in following up with doctors or insurance providers to help move the approval process along more smoothly.
Step 3: Building Your Child’s Treatment Plan
After insurance authorization is approved, your BCBA will create an individualized treatment plan designed around your child’s unique needs and your family’s goals.
Specific Goals
Clear, targeted objectives in areas such as communication, play, social skills, and daily living activities.
Therapy Hours
Personalized recommendations for weekly therapy hours based on your child’s assessment results and individual needs.
Cross-Setting Support
Strategies to encourage skill development at home, school, and within the community.
Parent Training
A supportive parent training plan to ensure you feel confident, involved, and well-supported throughout the process.
We will carefully review the treatment plan with you before therapy begins and update it at least every six months, or sooner if your child’s needs change.

Step 4: Starting ABA Therapy
Once everything is in place, your child will begin their ABA therapy journey. Depending on their unique needs, therapy may range from 15 to 40 hours per week of individualized support.
Flexible Settings
Sessions can take place in our center, at home, or in community settings, always guided by your child’s treatment plan and comfort level.
Focused Practice
Each session is thoughtfully designed to help your child practice the specific skills outlined in their individualized plan.
Regular Updates
Our team will provide consistent progress updates and ongoing guidance, keeping you fully informed every step of the way.
Throughout the process, you’ll have meaningful opportunities to be actively involved in your child’s progress, with our team supporting you at every stage of the journey.
Our Goal is Your Child’s Growth
We are dedicated to making this process as smooth and supportive as possible, so you can focus on what matters most, your child’s growth and progress.
Every step of our process is thoughtfully designed with your family’s comfort and confidence in mind. From the initial assessment to ongoing therapy, our team will be here to support both you and your child every step of the way.
